Rear linkage adjustment on FSR XC
I recently picked up a '99 FSR XC Pro. Where the link is bolted on there are three holes, mine is attached to the rear hole. How does moving it affect the suspension?

I think the shock is supposed to be mounted only on the rear hole, where it is now. The other ones are to save weight (or help with the welding, I don't know) but I don't remember Specialized having variable travel. I may be wrong, though.

Yeah, looking at it again I don't think I could move the link back far enough to use the other holes, it's too thick.
Good bike for $75

Try bolting it into those other holes. Like FrozenK, I do not remember those being options. If it will actually bolt into those holes, then ride it slowly around the neighborhood and see how thing go. My guess is it will not feel right, taking the shock out of alignment. A slow test like this, if it fits without forcing it, will not hurt anything.

$75 bucks!!??
You practically stole it, and I won't call the cops. ;-)
That's a screaming deal.
It had a FSR XC S-Works back in the days. It was a great bike

Yeah, a guy on CL posted this bike and a low end Schwinn for $125 for both. I asked him what he would take for the FSR and he said $75 and I was like damn. I'm going to rebuild the whole bike, I've ordered tires, chain, cables/housing, ect, but it works perfect, I've put about 3 hours on it. Even the shock, fork and suspension pivots are good. I've got the paint nice and polished up now, the only bad thing is the fork decals are scratched and replacements are non-existent so I may just get newer Sid decals. Full XTR/XT and weighs 25lbs.
