Today's Ride
Went to Rouge Valley today for a ride. And i know, it's illegal to ride there, but whatever. Everyone else does and you never get caught. So i started at Pearce house and went down the huge hill to the train tracks. I turned right there and ended up in something that looked like an elephant sanctuary (this is near the toronto zoo, so my assumption probably isn't too far off.) There was a bunch of double track, so i turned back. This time, when i got to the train tracks, i took a right and found singletrack that lead into the forest. It was a windy hiking trail that later lead off into a long traverse. I was real freaked out cause the traverse had roots and dips everywhere and losing traction meant sliding about 60 metres down into who knows where. I managed not to slip off the trail and continued on until a steep dowhill that lead out onto a road, at which point i headed back. Yeah, so here are a couple of pictures....

So if we all go and jump off the CN Tower, you are going to jump too eh? I must say you set a great example. Such behaviour is the reason that so many trails are banned to MTBer's. There are tons & I mean TONS of legal trails to ride in Ontario. Go ride there!! STAY OFF the illegal trails. |
Nice pics.
Don't worry about turtlegirl...any trail that is fit for hiking is fit for biking. Laws are made to be broken.....and remember, they have to catch you to give you a ticket. REBEL YELL! |
if i'm not mistaken, even portions of the don valley trail system are "illegal" and on CP rail property. yet tons of people ride/walk/run on these trails. the city and CP rail know full well about them, as they've been there and in use for years, but doesn't really do much to stop the trails' usage either.
