HollowTech II Crankset
Okay, it's time for me to upgrade my crankset. Looking at this. Let me know your opinions about it.
For specs about it click on the link http://bike.shimano.com/catalog/cycl...=1116247546925 Thanks guys |
Dunno about the Hone, but I have the XT Hollowtech II. I like it. Light and stiff. Super simple attachment method.
However - you MUST install it right. Just throwing it on will generally not work out well. I would have thought a search would have come up with more info. |
I also have the Hollowtech XT and its been pretty good, very stiff for the weight, the HONE is a new freeride crankset to replace LX I belive, Ive seen good reveiws..

Hone = LX but black.
I just got a new LX HTII crankset a week ago to replace my damaged RF Next set. Initial impressions are good, the thing is stiff, shifting is fabulous, weight was reasonable, price was right. At $100 less than XT the LX seems the deal of the century, only difference being an slight decrease in stiffness (I doubt anyone could notice it, stiffness determined by lab testing) and 60g more weight. The funny thing is all the increase in weight is from the granny gear and bolts, LX these parts are steel, XT they are aluminum. There's a guy on MTBR that modified an LX HTII setup with new rings and other mods he's not telling about yet to get it lighter than XTR 960. Bottom line, it's a great crankset for not a lot of money, buy it. |
Awesome. Thanks guys. Prolly going to order it soon.
