CrankBros Candy 2 vs. 3

For cyclocross this year I'm planning on getting a set of crank brothers candy pedals, but can't decide if I should get 2's or 3's. Can anyone who's used both comment on the bearing quality/durability/longevity of the 2's vs. the 3's?

Thanks

I have Shimano and tried the 3's in my mtb . I couldn't clip in all day. Selling my egg beaters. Used twice.

Don't have any 3s. Have several 2s. 3s are supposed to have bigger, more durable bearings. Sounds like a good idea. 2s don't last long between rebuilds on a commuter.
Might not matter much on a low-mileage bike.
If I could go back to before I set up all my bikes with CB, I'd use Time pedals instead. Same mud/snow clearing, far better durability.
At a 2nd thought, I'd say that stainless is more important than if they're 2s or 3s.
Unless you really like to do maintenance. Not that it's particularly overwhelming. But you do need to pull the 2s apart every couple of months and regrease them. And every 2nd/3rd lube job, replace the bearings.

I have the Eggbeater, Candy, and Mallet 3. I've been running the EB3 and Candy 3 since 2013. No issues with the bearings. I'll clean and lube the pedals once a year. I live in So Cal so its pretty dry here. If you ride where its wet and muddy...you may want to do it more often.
