Noob With questions

Sup fellas, I have aquired one of the cheap mongoose bikes from a friend of a friend. I know, I know, its junk... The main problem i have with this bike is the front shocks, they are too soft. I would like to replace these with something better but not break the bank doing so. Is there a know aftermarket brand and dealer you can recommend?

There are probably going to be two problems in upgrading your fork.
1) Whether the frame can even accept a standard aftermarket fork; a lot of those bikes are proprietary in size or method of manufacture.
2) If the frame can accept a new fork, the cost of the new fork (to be an upgrade) will likely cost more than the bike did brand new, and would get you halfway to a "real" bike shop bike like a Specialized Hardrock Sport (~$350).

I'm sure there will be a bunch of people who will tell you to just ditch that bike, and save for a new one; anything you get for <$100 in the way of a fork is probably junk. I would probably agree with them.

Thats the news, save your money, ride it, break it, buy a new bike.

So just put it to the street with the trash next week?

NO! we said save your money and RIDe it. If you absolutely hate it and dont want to ride it, sell it and put that towards a new bike. I would definately suggest a new bike instead of puttin money into something that is junk (no offense) in the first place.
