hybrid on my mind
Rocky Mountain Whistler 10 2015.excellent condition.kept indoors chain always kept right.tuned allgood!,
It keeps calling my name,is this a quality bike? it's ok? Or Stay away? Thoughts anyone? Anyone |
What height are you? What's your MTB size?
|
To be used how?
I have a personal distaste for street/fitness/comfort bikes with suspension forks: there's an up-charge for the fork, and you end up with a slow/heavy/flabby bike that excels at nothing. I'd rather have something like a Diamondback Haanjo [rigid, drop bars, fat tires, reasonable chainstay length]. But that's me. Are drop bars a deal breaker? |

I'm riding local parks and light trail riding, parks with pavement also. Exercise for now..definitely know I'm getting hooked and want to advance right on through, different styles also |

the brand seemed popular in Canada and reviews were "great frames and reputable higher end (not my words, and not saying this specific one) but I dont have much experience in this sport yet.so honestly your feedback just about the suspension is appreciated, because obviously I need to figure out what is really want the set up to be before I start shoppong..(as I am currently in the hardtail mtb category)[...]
I'm riding local parks and light trail riding, parks with pavement also. That's definitely a good brand name. My shop owner (owner for 25 years) just chose one for his personal off-road bike. A fancy full-suspension one of course, but same brand. Are you familiar with the resort town of Whistler? After Moab, Utah, it's probably the most famous mountain biking mecca in the world. You can google/image "whistler mountain biking" to see what's going there. Anyhow, it looks like an appropriate type of bike for your needs: between a skinny tire road bike and a full-suspension mountain bike. The flat bar and suspension fork will definitely give you more control/stability when not on pavement. Definitely nice for negotiating curbs and floating over rough pavement. If it fits and everything is in working order, you can't go too wrong. |

Yeah I'm leaning towards this style but still want to figure out the set up.its a beautiful bike, and hard to compare as there are so few..in my neck of woods, actually I'm sure they're I'm just familiarizing myself with so different aspects..even picking it up for 225- 275 My girl can cruise or switch back and fourth with the kiddos. I'm trying to get everyone together you know..but hey thanks my friend. Real quick, how about any preference when it come to softening my ride on my minty 98 univega rover 305..its original and clean as can be..but just wsna do a road/trail smoothwe than knobby ? |

Don't quite follow, but sounds like you want to run the fattest/smoothest tire that will fit the frame/brakes. |

Also if you have any recommendations on set of tires.(Brands, models, size compatible) [26×1.95] I'm planning on switching my tires from the original knobby mtbs to a smooth road/trail tire, that would work on my 1998 univega rover305. just to soften and smooth out my ride. I want to keep it original,I feel I'd be doing more paved trails ,streets parks and light trail riding. So switching the tires would benefit me ..ty, my bad.. |
