Mountain bike tires
Hello,
I am totally new about the bicycle world, I started cycling a year ago, and I only have owned one bike.. an Apollo Phaze, which has a 26in rim and 26 x 2.1 tires.
The (probably silly) question is that the tires need to be changed as soon as possible and I want to put tires size 26 x 1 3/8 as I only use it to commute in the city, so I would like to know if the new tire would fit in the original rim.
Thanks in advance (:

I don't see a question in there. There are many tires available in that size range that will make your commutes more agreeable. Maybe look for something that has some sort of flat protection.

I think he is asking if the proposed tire is comparable to the original and will fit on his bike.
The 1 3/8" tire should be considerably narrower than the 2.1" original and therefore might not fit his rim properly.

That tire should fit. I ran 2.1" mountain tires on my Trek 8000, and had 1.25" semi-slicks for bike paths, with no problems. Once you run narrower semi-slicks, you'll never want to go back to wider mountain tires on the roads/bike paths. Faster and less tiring.

Do your current tires carry a marking on the side in the from XX-559? You want to be sure that any new tire that you buy also is marked XX-559.

Just grab some Nashbar Streetwise for $13 and call it a day. And yes, they'll fit fine.
