Flat Pedals

Can someone recommend me a good set of flat pedals for my Trek Xcaliber 9? The stock pedals are not so great but I also don't want to be scarred for life by some of the options I've read about. thanks ahead of time

It's hard to go wrong with Shimano. Not the lightest, widest, or cheapest, but usually mentioned among the best.

Fyxation makes some decent flat pedals. I would also recommend Ryan Leech flat pedal course. If you are worried about scars, invest in some shin pads.

I've been pretty happy lately with Race Face Chesters. Good grip, and plenty of color choices. Flat-soled, rubber-soled shoes will grip those pedals really well.

+1 for the RF chesters.

Take a digital vernier caliper with you if you are buying cheap ones, I got a chinese pair and one threaded shaft was so undersized it wobbled all the way in and I was afraid to tighten it in case it tore the treads out of the crank arm.
