shocks

I know this is a vague question, but what do you think of air shocks vs. coils?

air shocks are not suitable for larger riders. Well i know i think my SID has a max weight of 170. They have great adjustability though, if i want a real stiff ride then i just put more air in and the opposite for a soft ride. Air shocks tend to be lighter and often more expensive

I was a coil guy until I tried a 5th element air shock. Its the best shock I've ever ridden. It's perfect for trail riding. If you wanna' huck it go coil.

1. Are air shocks still good for relatively small jumps?

2. Whats the difference between the two ways of mounting shocks:

AIr shocks are fine for jumps. Well, to a point. They make beefier air models but no matter what it doesnt have the beef of a coil. I have been doing 2-3 foot drops with my SID which is a very light air fork

I like the security of a coil-over shock. They're heavier though....
