What year is my Santa Cruz?

Hello, I just bought this Santa Cruz superlight. I'm trying to figure out what year and kit it is. I'm thinking its an early 2000s model possibly with the rp23 shock being an upgrade?

My 2006 model looked exactly like this and was also blue powder oat -- very nice looking bike

Given how little they changed the SL for a few years, i would have to guess its an 06

Thanks, I cant wait to ride it in the morning. I think it may actually be a 1999-2002 model. After doing some more research one of the only noticeable differences seems to be the shape of the lower mounting point of the rear shock. Look at this page and hopefully you will see what I mean https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en...ike/superlight so I am fairly certain its a 1999-2002 and the kit is either the xt, x, or r but I am unsure which. If anyone knows how to read a vin on the superlight that would be very helpful

Nice. My first FS mountain bike was a 2000 Superlight.

Thanks, I've been out riding it pretty much all day and am really loving it. It handles like nothing I've ever ridden before.

Nice! I always like the idea of the SL for its simplicity
