Dirt jump sizes**********??
Hey whats up in MTN bike land. Well here goes. I have a old Balance XC Mtn bike that the frame is cracked. All the components are of XT and XTR fashion. I have been looking for a dirt jump frame so that i can join my friends at the local dirt jump site and just ride around town. I have a 04 Jamis Dakar that i love but thats for XC and i also have a Haro escape 8.1 that i bought for my girlfriend but that now has extra soft springs in it and doesent really work for my 6'1" 225 pound ass. I was wondering what size frame i should get and what size frame you guys are riding for dirt jumping? I also was wondering about the Mountain Cycles Rumble that i found online for relatively cheep. Are they good frames or are they junk? Well thanks in advance for the help.

Usually, in DJ, the frame sizes fit small so you can throw the bike around in the air. As for what frame to buy, check out Soul Cycles: www.ridesoul.com , either the Loki or Titan, can't remember which is for DJ. They're both 265 dollars for a nice frame.

Hey thanks alot drunken chicken for the info. Wow drunken chicken what a name cant even begin to wonder how and the hell you got that name. Anyway those frames are nasty looking from soul cycles. i might have to look into one of those. Any one else like to add any manufacturer or sizes?

I keep toying with the idea of buying an Azonic Steelhead. Chromoly tubing at a cheap price. Jenson had them on sale for next to nothing!

I prefer to use a trail bike rather then a dj bike for my dj'er. I built up a 17" Jamis Komodo and use 24" wheels whith hookworms. The main reason for using the different frame is I can usually get a better deal on them and dj'ing is mainly just practice and something I do not do on a regular basis.
If you want a dj specific frame look at SouldCyles, Evil, Kona, etc. ... there are a lot of great dj bikes out there. It will just depend on how much you want to spend.
Yes. The Rumble is a great frame. Very strong. If you get a good deal on it and it is in good condition it should work good for ya.

get a small dj bike if you want children. my friend lost this ability when he was 15 after a dj screw u. he was riding a bike too big and it didnt work out for him.

Well i went to the local bike shop today at lunch break from work (actually im still at work i love being the boss....HA HA HA) and they are trying to get me a Kona Hoss delux in a 16" frame. They said that the frame is like $210 thats a real good deal. They also had a Redline monocou ( i think thats what its called) but that thing is a single speed but it does come with a fork rigid of course.

If you want a dirt jump bike for your size, Maybe you should consider a 17 inch cowan frame? Amazing hardtail dirt-jumper.
