I just saw a Huffy BMX, brand new being ridden with pride and a fair amount of ignorance with the fork assembled backwards. So the wheelnuts were behind the fork, cant be good for stabilty but I bet it steers real quick :D . Any body else seen other Kmart/walmart assembly stuffups worth noting?

Happens all the time. We even had an example of a rather nice bike being sold on eBay that had the fork on backwards. The V-brakes were in the rear of the fork. Another member contacted the seller and was told that they had bought the bike from someone else online and they assembled it themselves. Takes all kinds I guess
