Took my Kestrel Rubicon SX out of the garage and got it all dusted off and cleaned up after not riding it for nearly two years (it's a long story)... Anyway, it has 2 rear SIDS for the cantilevered suspension (which is friggin' awesome, btw) and I got the shock pumps out and pumped them up and they don't hold air anymore.. These are 1999 model SID rears and have about 500 miles on them.. nothing too extreme..

Anyway, I emailed Kestrel and they suggested getting them rebuilt and that my LBS should be able to do it pretty easily. Called LBS and they said they would ship them to Rock Shox service center in Minnesota and that it would cost 120 clams EACH! YIKES! Brand new they were 250 each.

I took them in and they're getting fixed, but I wanted to see if any of you guys and/or gals have rebuilt these... It seems like it would just be some O rings and lube, right?

Any insight to this would be greatly appreciated...

Tom.

PS.. I'm new to this site.. Glad I found it!

Contact Rock Shox through their website and ask for a "Service Manual"
