Space the Final Frontier

It has been a year of exploring new trails, and I get excited every time I pull out the trail bike. I never know what to expect and what's around the next corner. It has also been one of the rainiest years I can remember, and that has made the exploring even more fun getting all wet and muddy. Now that the cooler weather has arrived I can't help but think of all the fun I'm going to have this year out on the snow and ice trails. This has been a Great season of riding for me and I have a new Fat bike coming early January to add to that fun.

I have learned to play it safe heading into puddles because some turn into mudholes. I have been exploring the Templeton State Forrest area lately and lots of mudholes just waiting to eat your front tire.

Had a light coating of snow but plenty of ice, and had a few crazy ice spots on the roads this morning driving into work.

doesn't take much, right? last fall I got surprised by some freezing fog on the exit ramp from rt 2 w to 495 n & did a little back & forth fishtail on the curve cuz I was going too fast. at the same time a dump truck was heading toward me in the opposite direction getting off 495 curving around to get on 2. there's just a small dirt patch between the two opposing & concentric lanes & I briefly considered how potentially poor a situation it was before something good caught hold & I regained enough traction to straighten it out & continue on the curved ramp to 495. bit of a wake up to the ole adrenaline

here
