It's good. Don't post such big pictures.
If you like the price and you like the bike, just buy it. |
h3ll yeah its a good bike.

I think its about 850 or 900 $ CAD....anyone know the exact prize ?

My friend has the '04 model and it's great. It can withstand almost anything. He usually takes it downhilling every weekend. In my opinion, it's an awesome bike.

I think it's the lowest end Kona DJ bike... should be around 550 US, or like 700 CAD or something.
Should be pretty good, I guess. |
It is on the lower end of the dj line but that is because of the components they put on it. The frame will last a good while and you can up grade the components as needed.

I am a beginner and want to do some dj and xc.
I am thinking about buying this bike [Kona Shred] but have couple of questions about it. Is it suitable for XC riding, please elaborate your opinion. Should I save some more money and buy Kona Stuff or Cowan? thanks in advance. |
Its a good bike to buy and it'll take abuse. If you upgrade parts as and when they fail you'll end up with quite a bike.

Dirt jumpers usually get bikes a little smaller so they can throw them about more. I too am looking at this bike and if you see my thread here: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=112633 it may help you. |
Madman...04 scrap was 900, 05 shred is 900. Things are pricier here.

The Kona DJ frames aren't all the same even though they're similar, the Scrap and Shred are the same, the Stuff is different (look at the drop outs) and the Cowan has replaceable dropouts.
They're all tough frames though. I went with the Stuff when I bought mine because of the great reviews it got at MTBreview.com, I love this bike. |
