Is my Crankset too far from my frame?

Is my Crankset too far from my frame?
I noticed that on my other bikes the driveside crank sits much closer to the game (5mm) than my new cranks (17mm). The bottom bracket has a spindle length of 122.5mm and it used to have a 48/38/28t Crankset but now has a 24/34/44t cramkset. Is this normal?

The more important thing is how does it run? If it still runs fine and the chainline is still in tolerance than it can be chalked up to there ya go. Also, changing a smaller ring into the mix will pull the distance away from the chainstay wider, even within the same chainline.

An increase in the gap from 5 to 17mm seems like a lot. Bottom bracket spindle length is specific to the crankset (regardless of number of teeth). I'd see what your new crankset's manufacturer says is the correct spindle length. You can fudge it by a few mm, but I'm guessing you need something like a 110.
