Slippery when wet !

I knew by taking out the Trek without studded tires instead on my studded tire fat bike would add a little fun to the ride. The trails are soaked and with all the leaves, roots, and ice lurking in spots it made for some fun. I must have slid out my back tire over a dozen times, but was able to stay up. Well except for one corner where I rolled over a couple downed broken branches right as I started to turn and tasted the trail. It's all good because I still bounce, and it just added to a fun filled 3 hour out playing in the woods. This sure beats riding the indoor trainer, glad I made the switch last year. Now I'm just waiting for some snow to play in.

That looks like perfect riding weather :). Almost what we ride year round. I was just out riding the past few weeks and barely stay upright on the wood work. Its the time of year when going slow(er) is the only option :)…

My Version of slippery when wet. Lots of rear end sliding on the wood obstacles. :)

Haha i didn't even notice how close that came. In the end I regretted not wearing my shin pads. Ended up with a long scratch on my left inner shin.

Everything was slimy so quickly realized I couldn't use my brakes haha

That's some good wet wood riding Maelstrom. I was out this weekend and the first wooden log bridge I came to, I slipped out and down in to the almost frozen creek...When I went back to look, the top layer of wood was all frozen over...Gotta pay better attention this time of year here I guess...

Thank you :)

The key is to randomly yell at yourself "no brakes". It helps remind you that brakes are the enemy in wet conditions. I haven't seen snow yet, so its just been rain wetness for me :)...I head to sedona ia month and half so I am looking forward to something different haha

My favorite part of that trail is around 630. I wish it was a longer section. Still fun none the less.
