Freezing temps moving in.
Winter's cold weather is running late and the snow has forgot it's suppose to be covering the ground by now. But alas the cold weather is moving in with freezing temps rolling in for a few days. Now the trails are starting to freeze over and it's time to roll out the studded tires, and go play on the ice. So after work it was off to play in the woods.

just saw this. ice breaker! I can relate, went down during the start of a blizzard when I broke thru some pretty thick ice. but the void underneath just couldn't support my weight. I managed to hop off as I dumped the bike, but I kept a pic so I would remember the hazard (but I can not find it at the moment). this time of year I guess we are in limbo, meaning we need more consecutive days of hard freezing to have reliable ice. one of the reasons I fear my usual hangout down by our river, especially at night. good thing you know where you're going, meaning at night w/just a bike light. btw the beam pattern loks like just 1 light, how did you manage that?
also took a pic from the same day I dumped my bike, cuz my aggressive studded tires filled with packed fresh snow lifting the bike off the studs, losing traction https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...870cc8d701.jpg nice vid! keep 'em comin'! found it, lol, never saw it coming https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a27c9c7c52.jpg |
