SPD Cleats with Carbon Soles

Hello,
With typical nylon soles, a SPD cleats will leave groove marks which on the upside allow easy cleat replacement position, however the downside is the marks will make fine-tuning your cleats after tightening difficult as it'll tend to go back to the previous cleat position.

Now with carbon soles not having a "soft" surface, will SPD cleats groove crushes the carbon layer or what? As I use my MTB shoes on my road bike as well, so I find nailing the cleat angle as very important, and having the cleat leaving groove marks on the sole makes it difficult to fine tune it.

Mine still leave indentations. Maybe the actual platform part is nylon. (Shimano somethingorother expensive shoes.)
