Why no ALU Canyons?

Canyon sells aluminum MTBs - just not in the U.S. Any idea why that is?

Probably simply their biz strategy. Lots of direct to consumer offer mostly carbon options. You can get a carbon bike for only a little more than a compariably equip aluminum bike locally.

Well, he did say ALU, not Al, which is the IUPAC convention/periodic table abbreviation for aluminum.

ALU: Abbreviation of arithmetic logic unit, the part of a computer that performs all arithmetic computations, such as addition and multiplication, and all comparison operations. The ALU is one component of the CPU(central processing unit).

I should have narrowed my question. I'm interested in a hardtail and the only aluminum Canyon hardtail, the Grand Canyon, is sold in other countries but not in the U.S. Their crabon hardtail, the Exceed, is sweet but I'm not willing to spend that much.

Get a Specialized Chisel. A very nice riding aluminum frame, SLX components, decent shock. $1600

Get a steel frame.

Canyon is a bit of a hassle to deal with. I don't want to derail your thread, but our first bike from them will likely be our last.
