One who finds it necessary to insult your ride is insecure and likely has a small penis. I had a dude on a nice road bike snicker at me at a stoplight recently. Yeah, my bike weighs 35 lbs, runs 2" knobbies with the rolling bead in the center, has awkward aero bars, mismatched bottle cages, yellow marbled road tape wrapped around gel grips, and me in an Arrogant Bastard Ale jersey on with plaid shorts. The adrenaline and some strong legs left dickhead in the dust at the next light, where he had to stop.

It's more about the rider, less about the bike. All the Treks I've seen looked nice, the online reviews confirm that it is a decent bike, and warranty stories appear to favor great service.

I think its odd that most people on this forum would go against getting a Trek yet they are still the top brand in the world. Is it because of all the people who don't know jack**** about bikes that go with what lance rides and buy all these treks, or are they available worldwide unlike other brands.

Also Maelstrom, what would have been a good HA for the hardtail Bruiser's? More or less than what it is now, and why?

False. Trek is not the top brand in the world if you're going by sales as any other thing you could argue would be subjective so I'm going to go ahead and assume you are talking about sales. Giant Bicycle is the number one selling brand of bicycle in the world.

Coincidentally, I like Trek mountain bikes but their road bikes I do not have a taste for. Until you get up to the OCLV series of course! Then they pwn. lololol

A 4500 WSD for $250 if in good shape is a good ride and if your lady likes it of what opinion is the 4k bike snob to you? That person may spend a heluva lotta time that could justify the cost of that bike but the one I got for my wife has only been out a few times, mine much more. Her ride is a wahoo (Trek owns GF) and was a good price new ($230) that is pleny fine for her she was thinking Target for her ride and I was gonna cry.
