Manitou vs Rock Shox

Hi

I'm currently building up a Giant ATX Team hardtail and need some advice on which fork is best suited. I weigh 80kg and will be doing most of my riding on the road, single track and fire roads. I am limited to the following choice in shocks Manitou Mars Elite '02, Black Elite '02 and Rock Shox SID SL '02 and Duke XC '02. Which of these shocks would you recomend ?

Thanks

I am getting some SID Sl's 2003 edition sooner or later and I have tested them out and they are great. Really light, plush but they flex a little but nothing bad. Oh yeah they look really cool without stantion covers.

I'm not a big fan of Rock Shox products' I had a lot of problems with the ones I had. Albeit, that was some years ago and their new products appear nice. I would vote for the Black Elite. I'm impressed with the Reverse Arch Technology and the travel adjust.

Granted, I stick with Marzocchi when I build up a bike, but you didn't list them, so I'll shut up now!

I won't touch a Manitou since I read about their "product testing" in I believe Arizona they basically destroyed some of the local trails blazed their own unsustainable stuff and were generally pricks to evreyone around. So no me gusta Manitou.

Personally I'd consider looking at Fox, Pace or Marzocchi as well - all three generally produce better forks than Manitou or RockShox.

Of course if you go for Marzocchi's you might have the same problem I've got in that the ones I'm after are back ordered with the supplier, because they're so popular... :(
