Kona Cinder Cone Scandium Frame Question
Hello, I am new to this forum and new to mountain biking. I would like to get a bike for bike packing and found a used Kona Cinder Cone with a Scandium 69 frame. I haven't found much about scandium frames and wanted to know if I should steer away from it. It is a 2014 model and said to be well maintained. Thanks in advance for any advice.

It's a slightly higher end aluminum alloy with a very small amount of scandium. Might have slightly thinner tube walls than other aluminum frames. I wouldn't have any particular reservations about the frame based on its alloy.

I also have a Scandium Kona, the ride is a bit stiff and harsh. Have you considered steel options for bike packing?
