Entry level help
Hello guys, glad to join this forum!
I am currently in the process of buying an entry level mountain bike for less than €600 if possible. I need it for daily commute, exercise and when possible to test my abilities off-road. I have checked the following models: Trek marlin 5 women's bike, Ghosy kato 2.9, Haibike Seet hardnine 2.0 and Haibike Seet hardnine 3.0. To be honest while checking them out, the Haibikes just felt more right for me. The main difference between the Haibikes is that the 3.0 has a lockable fork (which I am not so sure whether will be useful for me as the roads are not so smooth and perfect where I live) and it also has 24 speeds whereas the 2.0 has 21. And the price difference will be €100. Is anyone available to help me make the proper choice? I've been waiting too long to get a mountain bike and I really want to get a good one! Thanks in advance :) |

Agreed with go with what feels best

If the Hailbike feels better, go for it. As far as whether to spend the extra 100 for the 3.0, at that price-point, you get a lot more for an extra 100 pounds. You are a long ways from the point of diminishing returns. I agree that the 21 vs 24 speed thing may not matter, but Tourney vs Acera does. If you can afford it, the extra 100, I would definitely go with the 3.0.

Thank you all for the replies! I did end up getting the Haibike Seet Hardnine 3.0 and I am in love with it! It really was worth the extra 100 euros, the gear shifting is smoother, the brakes are hydraulics, the lockable fork is really useful and the rear derailleur is better that the Tourney on 2.0. Cheers :)
