EDIT: canyon changed the shipping dates to next week, so I pulled the trigger on the Grand Canyon.

I was decided to buy a Canyon Grand Canyon AL SL 8.0 despite its crappy brakes. But I missed the free shipping promotion and my size won't ship until June, so I started looking for alternatives.

I found the PlanetX Whippet, which ticks almost all my boxes, except I would prefer an alu frame... They have the Alu Scandal, but I think it's not adequate as an XC bike as it won't be good at climbing with such an angled head tube, and I love climbing. Has anyone tried a Scandal?

Back to the Whippet I have another issue... The GX version stretches my budget to the max. And I have read the SX is not up to the quality, but never tried it.

So, my current dilema is: wait for the Canyon, buy an SX whippet, stretch for the GX whippet, or try a GX scandal (which currently is on sale BTW) at the risk I don't like its geometry.

I'm also not sure if the PlanetX RS 35 Gold fork is better or worse than the Fox 34 Rhythm that the canyon has.

Help me before I end up mad!

For 34 Rhythm is very considerably nicer than a 35 Gold, although that's not a bad fork by any means.
