2004 haro escape?

Well I don't know much about this bike, but I can get it for 250 dolllars used..It has a junkier rst fork and the left crank arm is bent..but everything else works i guess. I'm planning on doing urban and dirt jumping and I am wondering if this will hold up after i replace the fork and crankset. I am a pretty light person..I weigh 130 pounds and 5'10"

oh yeah its a HARO ESCAPE 8.2

I don't know why someone would put an RST fork on an 8.2, because it came stock w/ a decent Marzocchi..... I have an 04 8.1 and it is awesome, all i have had to do is replace the fork. The frame is nice and burly. But $250 makes me a litlle skeptic. Could you maybe get some pics of it?

i can also say the '04 escape frames are awesome! I used the small size 8.1 (8.2 and 8.3 are also the exact same, just different color) frame to build my custom bike. It's super tough and looks cool.

The total bike weight is 33 lbs. which is OK I suppose for most of you, but if I get another hardtail, it's gonna weigh less than 28 lbs.

The frames (only) for these are selling on eBAY for $50 new....

Its not a scam, this guy lives 2 blocks away from me. He put the rst fork on it because he broke the marzocchi fork. This also not going to be my main bike...my bike right now that i race with is a 05 specialized fsr xc pro..the haro is going to be the bike i abuse on jumps..ect

this is the only picture he posted..but I have seen it in person and ridden and i liked it

For $250 I would get it.

That is a manitou fork in the picture, not RST. Besides if you replace the fork and crankset with something decent, don't you think you'll be pushing around 600-700 dollars total.

ssom04 07-08-05 03:57 PM

In the picture its a manitou, but it really has a RST fork on it that I'm going to ride until it breaks..And the left arm crank is slighty bent..I could probably bend it back if i really wanted too...but I'm pretty sure I'll just buy a new crankset. I was thinking about buying the Race Face Evolve DH Crankset, because it runs pretty cheap..around 130 dollars..Does anyone use this crankset?
