Handlebar ends-but not on the end

How about bar ends with some reach which are positioned midway between the bar end and the stem? That's what I would like. I purchased Ergon GP5 and they are nice. But they go on the end only. They won't move farther in toward the stem. I will also use some bar ends on the end. Both. Standard mountain handlebar.

Anything like it? Goodly amount of reach. Any suggestions?

thanks,
Montobo

There are a gazzilion options for bar ends that can slide in past the end of the bar.

Just google “long bar ends” or “extra long bar ends”

This one took me about 8 seconds to find:

Thank you, Kapusta. You may well have answered my question.

Also, maybe I did not describe my problem well enough. Some of the bar ends do not slide on.

Such as:
(I am not allowed to post URLs). Go to Amazon, Search: Ergon-GP5-GFK-2015-Newer/

I bought this Ergon GP5. It *does not* slide on past the end. Yet, honestly, I cannot tell that by looking at the picture on Amazon. Also, the text does not tell me either. I bought it and--no sliding. I would have to drill out the plastic end. Not what I am looking to do.

Thanks.

You wouldn't be the first. Here's another recent thread on the topic

https://www.bikeforums.net/commuting...-ends-way.html

Current trail bikes are really too long for this, with very long frames and short stems. For a more traditional bike it seems fine to me. Surly puts the Moloko bar on the ECR but a standard riser bar on the Karate Monkey

Thanks everyone. Thanks Darth Lefty. The link to the other thread was helpful. I ended up ordering SQLabs 411. I believe it's the design I'm looking for.

Cycle on!
