okay for the price?

Personally, I'd never consider Supercycle but my friend wants a cheap but reasonable bike. The one I'm looking at is full suspension, all air shocks, and has Shimano EZ-Fire shifters and a front disc brake. It's half price now, so it's about $250 Canadian. How is it for the price?

Go for a hardtail at that price level. Don't dream about a dually unless to have USD 1,200 to spend |
Stay away from the C$250 Supercycle !!
IMHO you'd be much better off looking for a hard-tail second hand bike for that price. That's what I did a while ago when I couldn't drop much more on a bike. My C$180 used Norco Wolverine was far far superioir to my buddies SuperCycle junker that didn't last very long on the trails at all !! What's even better is that I just sold my Wolverine for C$180 (after riding it for a year - definitely the best return on an investment) and picked myself up a brand new Norco Charger (C $960) with my 'hard' earned $$ :p |
As peeps have said above, don't even think of touching a duel suspesnsion for at least £1000 (no idea what the current excahnge rate is), but with an average rear shock costing around $250-$300 alone, it may help. Sub £1000 a hard tail is always the best option.

Yes, yes, I know. I'm ashamed for even talking about Supercycle :o
The guy swears by Canadian Tire, I have no idea why.. |
