Anyone purchase a bike on-line from these guys? Good/bad experience?

Customer service reviews are not good, I'm going to skip this online vendor.

Aren't those the guys that licensed the word "backcountry" and then sued every ski, bike, climbing, hiking etc. business that were named something backcountry?

That alone would prevent me from buying from them......

Yes, it is exactly the same thing (Competitive Cyclist and Backcountry). Reputable company, excellent customer service, no problems at all. They and Jenson are probably the biggest cycling web stores in USA.

Yep, backcountry is great. Also take a look at signing up at activejunky. You can usually get 8-12% back although that may not work on bikes.

I bought my custom bike from Competitive Cyclists this past February. Excellent service as I worked with just one gearhead throughout the process. Very flexible during the 30 day return window as I was able to switch to a longer stem after about 3 weeks of riding the new bike.
