will any crank brothers egg beater and candy pedals with road cleats work with a road shoe?
|
As far as I know it will, just make sure the road shoe says that they are spd compatible. I used eggs with both SIDI and Specialized road shoes with no problems. Well, with the exception of terrible hot spots leading to me having to change to different pedals. :)

Well i believe so. I have road shoes I use on my Candy's

I use the road shoes I have with road cleats from CB with the Candy pedals for longer road trips. I had a difficult time clipping in with the road cleats onto the candy pedals but I found that over time it got easier though

My wife just installed Candies on her road bike and uses the CB Candy cleats bolted to her road shoes (Diadora Geko). Works great.
I'm not sure what you mean about "road cleats" though. The Candies come with their own cleats as do all pedals that I'm aware of. The Candy cleats have SPD bolt pattern, so will work with any road or mountain shoe that's SPD compatable |
i think the only difference is that the road cleats have a rubber bottom for walking traction.

Should work fine. I have Look-compatible Diadora road shoes that I put the CB spd-adapter and regular CB cleats onto and they work fine on the eggbeaters. The adapter adds a bit of height, but not noticeable when pedaling, only when stansing around (which I try not to do much:-)).
