Dropper post length limitations for a Trek X-Calibre 8 XXL frame
Hi, was wondering if anyone had the size limitations of what dropper post I could fit on a Trek X-Calibre 8 2021 XXL frame.
Frame is Alpha Gold Aluminium, tapered head tube, internal derailleur and dropper post routing, rack and kickstand mount, Boost141, 5 mm QR
Cheers

It really depends on how much seat post you have showing. That minus about an inch, depending on which dropper. On a medium frame you might run into the bottle bolts but not on a 2XL!
I think these bikes have a big mast above a low top tube so if you are clever & willful you maybe could cut some of that off above the gusset and redo the seat clamp slot to get more. And cut off the gusset too if you are really ambitious. Warranty voided and repaint needed of course.

The Roscoe is the same frame and comes with a 130 dropper from the factory and lists 6ft5 as the minimum height so you are good for at least that or longer, surely.
I found a photo of an XXL Roscoe (via the unlinkable website) and you can see there's a lot of wasted stack height below the dust seal from the TransX dropper, and there's more hidden at the seat rail clamp, that you could avoid with a OneUp post. if you still can't get as much drop as you want it looks like you could definitely take an inch and a half off with just a pipe cutter and redo the slot.
