narrow bar
any opinions on how narrow i can go on the handlbar on my xc rig? i need to cut them down but dont want to lose any control

Why do you need to cut them down? My handlebars are 22" across i think, with a 5deg bend. I would not go narrower than that

Get a cheepo alloy bar and just keep removing material until you reach a point that is to short for your liking. Then cut your current bar to the length just above that. I know riders that look as if they are holding the stem

Throw the stick!!!!
My flat bar is 22.8" with a 5 degree bend. My bar ends take up about 1/2" on each side. That brings usable width to a little less than 22". No way I would want to go any narrower. That is just me though.
