Groupset upgrade
Hi,
I currently own a Norco Fluid 3 which runs with a SRAM SX eagle groupset. I'd like to upgrade the groupset with either a Shimano XT or SRAM GX Eagle. Since both groups use a 10-51T I understand that my current freehub / rear hub will not fit and will need to get either a Micro Spline or XD freehub.
My question is: Will I be able to just change the freehub to either MS or XD (depending if I choose the Shimano or SRAM group). My current rear hub is unmarked / unbranded. The only indication is that it is HG compatible since it as a 11-50T SX eagle cassette attached to it. Obviously I am hoping I wouldn't need to change the whole wheel or rebuild it and at least the SRAM XD would fit.
Thanks for the advice!

I think I wouldn't bother with this unless going premium. The XX/XO cassettes are amazing quality, Garbaruk and e13 pretty clever, all light; but the GX & XT are still just a stack of steel, not a lot different from the lower ones except for needing the driver. The XT has a few aluminum rings, I seem to recall.

Thanks, Of course makes sense. if I keep the 11-50 cassette would I need to choose a special XT or GX serie or will il just work without differences on either a 11-50 and 10-51 cassette?
Thanks again a apologies for the newbie questions

11-50 or 10-51 doesn't matter to the shifters or RD. You can even run a shimano cassette with all the rest Sram or vise versa.
