BTW, off topic but how is your son? Someone mentioned he hurt his leg at the last race.

Before you go spraying bathroom cleaners or just about anything on your bike check the label or the MSDS. If it contains stuff that is listed as caustic or caustic soda or lye or sodium hydroxide, KEEP IT AWAY FROM ALUMINUM PARTS! It will damage the finish at the very least and destroy the part at the worst. Things that you can use to clean your car are probably pretty safe as far as cleaning your bike goes. Things that you use to clean your bathroom probably aren't. Keep the household cleaners in the house.

i got teflon cleaner for my chain, the guy at my lbs said it is what him and all the other guys he rides with use, it works pretty good. it is better than solvent i hear becasue then you need to re-lube the whole chain. the teflon lubes it and helps with debrie(pardon my spelling)collection.

I have always used Simple green for cleaning and degreasing my chain, by just today my LBS owner turned me on to white lightning metal prep for after you degrease (it takes off the degreaser and burns through everything and anything you can throw on your chain. Looks and runs smoother and quieter then when it was brand new and untouched. White lightning is all I will use now.
