assembly help - front fork

hi all, first post. i recently purchased a royce union (huffy) gravel bike for possibly commuting but mainly to take my dog on longer walks/runs. i got it from amazon and it came missing parts for the front fork assembly.

i called huffy and after sending me the wrong parts, they eventually sent me the whole front fork hardware kit. the problem is, the manual, and the royce union youtube video dont spend anytime on how these bearings and spacers are supposed to fit. just a diagram worse than ikea instructions.

i have 2 bearings sets and 4 spacers. nothing is marked. i assume both bearing sets are identical, so placement on top or below the frame wont matter, but how are they aligned? does the side where you can see the bearings go up or down. does it matter? and there are a bunch of extra rings..well, im sure they are not 'extra' which was my catalyst for looking for help.

because me explaining what i need would be painful for all of us considering my bike knowledge, id like to instead ask if any of you have a link to a video that has a similar front fork construction as the bike i have so i can figure it out. the last thing i need is to be riding along and the front end fall off and i break my ass...and teeth

id like to post a link to my bike but it seems i have to make more posts to do so. for reference it is the royce union RMG 27.5" avail on amazon

There are several types of bearings and am unsure which type you have on this bike: https://www.amazon.com/Royce-Union-G...p?ie=UTF8&th=1

I would suggest checking YouTube videos on how to install the bearings.

RJBikeGuy video's have been very helpful to me in the past:

This guy only shows the top bearing assembly:

There are plenty of other video's on assembly of the sealed bearings as well. Search YouTube with the: "headset assembly road bike."

Also, this might have been a better question in the Bicycle Mechanics portion of the Bike Forum. The mountain bikers are going to most likely help more with installing a suspension fork.

Very odd that a bike was shipped without the proper fork assembly and doesn't bode well for the bike. Would highly suggest taking the bike to a shop to have them go over this bike entirely, especially if you are not comfortable working on bikes yourself.

thanks for the reply. im sure it did ship with all its proper parts. the carrier shred the box in transit and a few things got left behind, probably over several states. the bottle holder i can live without. the headset assembly not so much.

and thanks for the vids!

and yeah i saw i posted in the wrong sub, but edit didnt allow me to change post location. sorry.

If you are unable to do this work ....I would suggest that you take it to a bicycle co-op

I did a fork swap, a cpl years ago, on a used, cheap, entry level MTB. there might be some useful info / pics here
