You've got your snow, mud, rain, ice, dust, hot, cold, dry conditions, which one of these don't you particularly care to ride in?

For me, I really hate the dust, especially when it's been dry and hot for one to three weeks. The kind of dust that gets everywhere and seems to get into everything. On todays ride with in the first two shuttle runs, no spills, but completely brown from dust. The bike has been cleaned off 3 times in the past 4 days.

Mud - Fun, not great but definately fun
ice - sucks monkey nuts
dust - equally sucks ESPECIALLY if you are riding in a group
cold/hot - eh...depends

For me Dust is the worst to be sure.

Trails where I am are very, very dusty and hot. We are suffering from some kind of heat wave. There hasnt been rainfall for months either.

Me i personally don't like riding when it is hot. I live in the northwest, rains alot, i prefer overcast, or the fall when it's not to hot.

cold depends on how cold. Below 40 I dislike but manage. Below 20 forget it, and i dont do offroad below freezing.
Heat is almost okay, i rarely mind heat/humidity.
Damp I find is a lot of fun, i like damp like the morning after a rainstorm.
Mud is okay to a point, when it gets knee deep and very long stretches of it, i get grouchy.
Dust is alright, i almost always ride alone so there isnt much that kicks at me.
Snow is okay up to 4inches, then its just an ass pain.
Ice- go home.

I got to experience both bug infested areas and 4x4 kicking up endless clouds of dust today. I'd have to say that those two things - especially on one ride in 100+ degree weather - would have to rank right up there on the old "suck" meter. The rest of the ride was unbelievably great though.

Cold is fine, as long as it's dry.
Heat, great.
Damp, sucky, usually means mud. If there isn't mud, its the same as cold though.
Dust, fine.
Snow, beyond sucky.
Ice, same.

snow- i hate snow
mud- it good at times, i would hate to ride in it all the time
rain- it sux unless all your doing is urban(i was out today biking after it rained, i went right off the edge of a corner on a big boardwalk. amazing thing is i just hucked it and managed to stick it, like 6 feet down into the bush)
ice- as said "go home"
dust- dont mind it at all, i like it better then mud
hot-as long as im dont have to climb any hills its all good
cold- its ok but usually when it starts getting cold is when i put my bike away for the winter.
dry conditions- dry riding trails in the forrest with minimal roots is my fave to ride.

Hot and buggy is the worst, although I live in California and haven't tried ice or snow

Wait till you ride whistler on a busy day after a month of sun. You won't be able to ride within 50ft of someone else otherwise you won't be able to see where you are going

The mix of dust, cinder and loose multi-sized lava rubble I ride on up here on Mauna Kea gives really poor traction. Bleh. I can't go off the established roads at all, because the surface is way way too loose and mixed.

i would think kamloops is just as bad, ive ridden there after a month of 30 degree weather. i was actually down at the kamloops bike ranch a few weeks ago and i followed 3 riders down one run, ya it was dusty but it was still rideable. (if your there you gotta check it out, the one line they have now is a jump trail with about 35 big tabletop jumps. really nice and flowey with big berms. theres big plans for it too. the city is funding the building and there are rumors flying of a lift.)

Rain - light rain ok, heavy rain FORGET ABOUT IT
Damp - fun
Mud - very fun at high speeds
ice - annoying
dust - meh...not so bad unless you're behind someone
cold/hot - super humid temperatures of 43 celsius are unbearable...especially with high UV. Cold temps of -10 is ok...anything lower and I'll just go out and hit the ski runs.

Rain- Only when its spitting, anymore i hate it.
Damp- Love it.
Mud- One of my favourite conditions.
Ice- Not sure.
Dust- Can be annoying if someone is riding in front of you and it gets in your eyes.
Hot- I don't mind the heat. If its more then 38 degrees celsius then its too much for me.
Cold- If i have warm clothing, then its good.

We dont get much dust here because its never that dry, i love riding in all these conditions, I wont stop a ride for any of them.

Spiderwebs and gnat clouds. They don't stop me from ridin', but I really wish they'd get the fudge out of my way. As far as weather and whatnot, about the only thing that'll stop me if I really wanna ride is a severe T-storm or tornado watch.

I don't like rainy, muddy conditions and I don't ride in the winter (snow is for skiing )

Everything else is fine with me. This summer we've had an amazing heat wave and the trails are dusty with lots of sandy areas. I have to clean the bike after every ride (especially the drive train, because it kills me when the chain has that gritty, grinding feeling).

It seems a lot of you guys dont like dust...let me tell you, one desert race in southern california with 500 bikes leaving at once and you will know what dust is and wont even think mountain bikes make dust!

I too hate dust, but dust in the desert...not in mountain biking. The key is to stay on the person in front of yous tire...there is a finite distance off that rear tire where the dust doesnt effect you but once you pass the limit you get dusted big time and have to back off 50 ft for visibility.

the most ive ridden my mtb with is 4 people and I always pick up the rear and although dust in your eye sucks...it has no comparison to what im used to so maybe thats why I dont consider MTB dust a problem.

100+ temps...thats my problem in cycling. I usually run out of gas mid way thru the ride. I dont have to deal with cold, snow, ice since im in so cal...but I have to deal with heat and eventually rain which i havent had to deal with yet.

I wouldn't think to ride someones rear tire that closely (I know the range you are talking about), that would be certain crash + injury.

Worst for me is loose, dry sand. Sucks to ride through and tough on the bike. Hard-packed sand is OK.

Ice and snow riding I try to avoid as much as possible.

I like a nice soft rain tick-ticking on my helmet and cooling me down.

I like hell-hot (dry not humid) days, like I'm riding through a furnace and almost feeling like I'm on the edge of heat stroke or something (of course, I make sure I have plenty of water and sun protection via clothing).

Fall (the season) riding is my favorite, though.
