[STEM ]Replacement for Cannonndale 4 HT
Hello everyone
I want to replace my stem for something that is adjustable as I want to raise my handlebar. This one is to be replaced: https://www.cannondale.com/en/bikes/...el-ht-carbon-4 I found this https://www.pro-bikegear.com/global/...djustable-stem - yet not sure about the make. Do you have any recomendations that will fit with no customisation? Many thanks! |
The current stem needs no customization. A new stem could need new cables and housing as well as new brake lines. Also keep in my an adjustable stem might not be rated for MTB usage. If you are having fit issues talk to a fitter and see what they recommend after your fit. That way you can get the correct length and angle stem and not fuss with stuff you really don't need and could come loose while riding. You could also look at a riser bar but again you will likely need new cables, housing and brake hoses and that is pretty normal.

Thank you for your response. So, it really comes down to considering the following:
- Whether the current brakes and levers don’t require new cables - Whether a better fit or adjustment can be made instead - The possibility of a malfunction due to not a proper fix of new part ( it is for MTB ) I wonder if the considered part diametrs are right They seem so yet I want to double check. |

A better fit can be made. Unless you have already had a fit on the bike recently from a proper dynamic fitter anyone can benefit from seeing a fitter. The part is just not designed for MTB so it is not an installation issue you could affix it properly but if it is not designed for MTB I won't matter. |
To get more stack on a mountain bike you should install a riser bar. You can't count on an adjustable stem to stay in place
