I have a GT Timberline 18” MTB I bought a long ago, around year 2000. I’m trying to get the specs for it. Does any know where to get or if the specs can be found somewhere using the serial number? I also attached a some pics.

It is a pretty basic hybrid/"comfort" style of bike, what are you looking to know? Value unless sentimental value is pretty low and putting the absolute factory spec parts on it will be a very expensive endeavor. Cheap 7-8 speed stuff can be bought new pretty easily at your local shop as needed. If you are looking to mountain bike with this I wouldn't recommend it as those parts were not designed to handle it, it is a bike built for paved roads or light off-road trails but not actual mountain biking. If you are looking to ride it I would fix your stem and handlebars as the angle is too high on the stem and the stem might be high so check to make sure the minimum insertion line is in the frame (not just the threaded headset). If you want to invest money into this because it has sentimental value than you can find riser bars and sweptback bars that will put you in a more upright position.

The triple triangle frames are cool though and the color is great but I am partial to variants of B. Racing Green. However the bike overall was an initially low cost bike so only invest if you really love it and aren't looking to try to make money on it.

Thanks for the replies but that’s not what I asked for. I’m looking to get bike specs and or
description from the serial number if that’s possible. GT has gone out of business I’ve heard and a local dealer can’t help. I’m wanting to sell the bike and would like get as much information as possible.

When did they go out of business? I know they are pausing operations and selling some old inventory but I don't think they are totally gone yet. PON Holdings which owns GT now after the Dorel sale is unlikely to get rid of a bike brand. While the bicycle side of things is quite small for PON in the grand scheme of their company it is a very very important part of what they do being Dutch. The company is massive and go into some really weird sectors of business.

If you are trying to get highest value get the bike as clean as possible adjust the handlebars and stem to the correct position and follow the rules for taking bicycle photos and take lots of good photos and stick to the drive side. https://theradavist.com/photographing-bicycles-how-to
In the end the effort will probably net you $20-100 but certainly you can always try to ask for more. But a 26 year old bike that was around $400 bike new doesn't hold much value.

This can be a starting gauge for pricing some people don't love it because there area is really good for sellers and you can get more and some are bad and you get less:

Looks in great condition, but in my burg it's worth only $75 - $150 tops IMO.

I have a 1992 Timberline converted to a single speed. Thr parts are worth more than the frame. I would think you might get 100 bucks for that bike.

My first MTB was a Gary Fisher 1995 Aquila had a Rock Shox Indy installed. Start of my biking addiction lol.
