jeep comanche tsi?

Does anyone have any information on a jeep comanche tsi? I found for sale for $100 supposedly lightly used and in good condition. I have heard nothing but bad stuff about jeep bikes. Here is a website with the component list and details. Does this sound like a decent bike? I would be using it for moderately difficult mountain biking.

The jeep bike looks like it's made for street use only, plus any new mtb under $1000 with full-suspension is junk. Look in the $500 mtb thread for a bike. What's your price range anyway?

Does it come with the 4 Liter I6 or the four cylinder?

ive heard that several times now, dont buy a cheap full suspension bike. i think i'll listen. im not really looking to buy a bike right now, just thought i'd jump on a good deal if it was a nice bike. I have a gt timberline right now thats been an excelent bike, i've had it for 5 years, and i now have my first problem. I suspect my rear wheel bearings have gone bad. possibly crank bearings. I just wanted to get a full suspension bike to soften up the ride on all these rocky downhills ive been riding.

I currently own the Jeep Comanche TSI, and would not recommend it to anyone else.
I've owned it for a year or two now, and was bought practically brand new.
As far as the dual suspension..it's definately crap...front monroe shocks don't do jack unless you bang the front of the bike hard enough...in which case you'll also end up blowing the tire....so i don't advise it. pretty much the same thing for the rear shock as well..there's a little bit of a bounce when you first sit down (I'm only 140lbs tho...) but as for it making any difference when riding..none at all..the sidewalks are still brutal. (i only use it in the city, but it's canada...you practically need a mtb for the city here) That dude above me mentioned issues about bearings and whatnot, and I'm thinking i've got similar issues here.. bke seems to be lagging quite a bit..and hard to pedal and stuff..so I feel i'm going to have to tend to that. hmm...oh..both the cheap factory pedals have broke from stress...(and i'm not hard on my bike...really) but yea.that's pretty much it...or at least all I can think of ATM...so..if any other questions, just email

From the pictures it looks as um... well built as Jeeb autos. Get a proper bike, it's not as costly as you might think.

Good choice, that Jeep isn't worth the metal it's made out of. My advice is go with a hard tail since the less than a grand full suspention models appear to be rubbish. A solid starter's hardtail from a proper shop should run you not much over 300 bucks.

fadetoblack6902 08-23-05 05:24 PM

ive already got a nice hard tail, a high model gt timberline. I just wanted to upgrade, and it would have been nice to be able to do for $100. I'll probably just wait til I want to spend a grand.

A jeep mountain bike? Thats proposterous.
