SOunds like the reaction people first had when the v brakes came out. I got to check out the originals back in the day from marinovative, and at the time, I was amazed at the power.

Nice find on the fork mate. Sorry don't know much about the cranks, Ithink I have heard of them from some guy who does street???? Brakes..... where abouts do you live? Hope brakes are very very expensive (well atleast down here) this is due to the expense of importing them and the Hope importer down here is a small company (not their fault). I think someone was quoted over $100 (AUD) for a new set of seals for one brake! Also how common are they where you are? Will replacement parts be readily avaliable? Do the stores around you actually know the design and hence how to fix them if they break? Personally I feel that they are some of the best brakes I have ever ridden (Hope 6pot Ti and 4pot) but they are not worth the price or hassel or the ever lasting squeal. I would (and do happily) run Hayes Mags or Juicy's. I love the feel of them, they are cheaper and replacement parts are easily avaliable, same with Avid Juicy's (here is a tip the Juicy 5 and the Juicy 7 are the same brake except that the 7 has the dial, get the 5).
However if you want one of the top products then pay the extra for the Hopes.

Hope has been around here in the states for a long time. My first experience with them was when I tried out a Fisher Lawill FS that had them on the rear(1991?). I was leaning towards them since they have the multiple pistons. This is better for brake modulations. Any opinions on Grimeca? the https://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=17723
