Interesting. I don't know why anyone would want a chain device without a bashguard, but i suppose this gives you the option of a bash guard if you want also.

It's for the Race group who wants their bikes as light as possible.

A friend of mine runs a chain guide without a bash gaurd. I think he has some bmx style cranks though. I don't see a problem with it.

you will also eventually be able to buy a add on bash for it. but as said its for racers who want to save weight.

oh and by the way it weighs 195 grams, and theres suposed to be a formula version nevt year that will weigh 135 grams.
