1st - have wife and kids? if answer is no then TAKE THE JOB!

Tones of mountain bike trails all over japan, If you based in Okinawa there is a great trail called Spider's Loop in Yomitan.

I lived in Japan a while ago "I am Canadian" and loved it. for me I found the world of urban freestyle riding and it improved every aspect of my riding.

Okinawa is great. You probably might not being doing as much off-roading as you'd like, but there are plenty of places to do on-road biking. But I lived there 15 years ago, so, maybe there are more places to bike there.
