Nightsun Team Issue
I have an older nightsun team-issue headlight that I bought in about 1998. The headlight is currently not working. I am not sure if it is the battery. I remember I was having some problems with it back when I owned it and I just wanted to get it working again. Anyone have one of these or know how to repair them? It looks like it was built with an erector set

Yeah, an Erector set. And you know how long those last - generations. You could just call or E-mail Nightsun. I did to get a new bulb cover. Maybe they can just sell you replacement wiring. Try shorting a 12 volt battery across the bulb terminals to see if only the bulb is shot. New bulbs for $5 to $15 dollars. When my wiring went years ago I just went to a commercial lighting supply store, showed what I had to a tech, and he sold me parts to build a new system but I am a DIY type.
