Could be pivot, seatpost, crank/BB, among others...hard to diagnose online.

I was getting something similar to that and the shop said my freehub was on its last legs. It's 5 years old and I had pretty much tightened everything else, so it sounds right to me. Problem is the shop and Specialized can't figure out what the correct replacement part is. I'll probably go with either a new hub and wheel rebuild or new wheel altogether. If it still does it after that, I don't know what/where to look!

To get a better idea of what the problem could be, you have to identify what you are doing on the bike when the sound is occurring...i.e., is it random, when you are turning, when you are pedaling, over rough terrain, etc...

it it basically random noise, just appears now and then, while doing all sorts of riding. most noticable on asphalt roads when no other noises around. i got the bike just month ago so it it almost new. in lbs they took apart some parts but couldnt figre out. since then noise is not that frequent but it is still there.

well.. it could be anyting where 2 or morten ve parts join.. like B\B,piviots,ect.. you got to try and make the sound come again and then listen carefully..

1st thing to check is the seat post.
Tighten it if you can.... |
