Mountain Biking in/around Harrisburg, PA

I'm going to be in Harrisburg for the next three weeks and was wondering if anyone knows where I can do some mountain biking while I'm there. Singletrack would be best. Anywhere within say 15-20 miles would be great. Thanks for your help.

Not too familiar with the Harrisburg area, but I used to ride around the York and Shrewsbury areas and there are some fine trail systems there. Might try: https://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group...ountainbikers/ --you might have to "subscribe" to post, but might be someone there familiar with Harrisburg. Or Google some Harrisburg shops and see where they might recommend.

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking around a little more and tend to agree with you that York County is probably the best place to go. I'm also going to consult some local bike shops in the Harrisburg area. Thanks again.

It's fun to ride at City Island in Harrisbug. You can cross the grate bridge at Walnut Street (I think) and ride along the river (concrete). I believe that leads to a trail near Resevoir Park.

I live in York, PA. I'm just starting out myself, but I like riding at Pinchot Park, there are a few trails there.

Here are a few others in York:

Gov. Dick Park in Mt. Gretna[near Lebanon] is good Pa. single track, and the Appalachian trail area near Gettysburg has a lot to offer
