trail across the usa

hey everyone, usually a roadie - but stopping by... :)

my friend told me that there are trails that go from one side of the usa to the other, and run through Michigans UP. Is this true? My friends and I are looking for a good trail to conquer next summer.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Mike

Never heard of that trail. Try the great divide mountain bike route for an adventure. It runs from the top side of the USA to the bottom side.

Just guesstimating here, but let's see...approximately 3500 miles coast-to-coast, if you were able to average 100 miles per day, looks like 35 days. Then take into account the Appalachians and the Rockies, along with the fact that the trail doesn't exactly go "as the crow flies". Barring injuries along the way, plan on 8-10 weeks.
