disc brake hubs.

hi, my bike that i own comes equipped with rim brakes but has disc mounts on the frame and fork. it also has quick release skewers. the question is, do i have to change to a rim that has a disc hub, or do i just buy new skewers?

You'll need new hubs.

You have two options:

Re-build your current wheels with disc hubs (but bare in mind that not all rims are recomended for use with discs)

or

Buy new wheels (with disc hubs) out right.

As stated above, you could either buy complete rims with disc hubs or rebuild your existing wheels. When rebuilding wheels yourself though, you have to know which length spokes to get to match the hub flange and make sure to pick a hub with the same amount of spoke holes as the rim. These are basic precautions, but you have to take them into consideration so you don't end up with incompatible parts.
