This is kind of cool but other than the ability to position them outboard the brake levers, I'm not seeing anything new over just running older RF shifters. At least Shimano has somewhat committed to continued support for triggers.

Eh Maelstrom, is that a new Rocky, the stealth? And this is just a guess, but is that the new RMX Canuck in the 2nd picture, and yeah, Wade Simmons and Richie Schley!!! I thought I had seen them before, but I had to look at the picuters agian.

the stealth rocky just a switch painted matt black w/out decals. the rmx is the "crossfire special edition" whose colour scheme was chosen by simmons...

Ive always wondered, whats the extra thingy on the rear shock (ones blue on one pic).

Maelstrom 10-09-05 10:45 AM

Do you mean the remote resevoir? It helps displace the oil.

EJ123 10-09-05 10:49 AM

Sure, lol, I think it says FOX on it in the pic.

Maelstrom 10-09-05 10:50 AM

Yep, thats the remote resevoir :)

EJ123 10-09-05 10:53 AM

I knew about the Rocky Mountain Canuck, but I have nver seen the Black Switch, so are they changing the product line, or is that just a new paint job for a 06, or special 05?

from the article i linked to:

Rocky Mountain keeps pushing their bike designs. You've already heard a lot about the new Slayer but the Switch has also been completely redesigned. Wade Simmons chose it as his steed for the District Ride in Germany - perhaps because, like the Slayer, it's become lower and sleeker. Other tweaks include; a longer stroke shock, a rising rate linkage for a bottomless feel, a 12mm thru axle rear hub, a lower standover height and stronger 'boxed in' link plates. Best of all it's handmade and powder coated right here in B.C. We'll have a tester in the stable any day now. If you leaf through the Rocky 25th Anniversary catalogue you'll notice that the Frorider name for their team riders is continuing to make a subtle comeback.
the paint schemes are probably related to the fact that next season is their 25th anniversary.
