Fisher's Opie, any good?
I've been looking at bikes for a couple of weeks now and I'm liking the Gary Fisher Opie. My question is, has anyone had any experience with these? It looks like a pretty good deal. Just looking for some input.

Its really basic, low end components on a "aggressive" frame... I don't know how long all the parts will hold up to dirtjumping/freeriding but the frame is the same you get on the Mullet and their other models. So think solid frame, and pretty weak components, but at $339 you won't do much if any better anywhere else.

Well, It's mainly for between 5-10 mile rides on paved, gravel, rock, and mud. I think it would probably hold up against that.. If not, what would you suggest?

It's a nice bike, I bought one myself just last week. I took it out 3 times already on some pretty bumpy trails and it seems to be holding up fine. I think it's a good beginner bike. The only thing I didn't really like about the bike is that it only comes in one color, red.

yeah i had a look at the opie...i don't like it at all to tell the truth but i guess it's good...ish.
I also suggest a different bike for example a stp 2. It's a much better frame and the components are bout the same.
