New Bike...need Confidence

Hey, I just sold my 2002 specialized Enduro comp. (fair condition) that was all stock to buy a 2005 cannondale Prophet 600. I do a range of riding i just want your opinions on if I made a good choice.

given the spate of comments recently, allow me to extend a gesture of goodwill. welcome to BF. prophet 600 is pretty good, but I too am curious why the enduro was replaced. post some pics of the new ride, if you please.

So if we tell you it's not a good bike will you take it back or just regret the decision you made? Do your research before you buy, don't try to do it after the fact.

go easy on the guy(gal?) - (s)he may well have done his/her research and wants some idea of where he stands i.e. whether it was a good deal?

imo as long as you like the ride and it suits your style, it's a good choice. don't bother regretting it, just move forward and grow with the bike. the prophet 600 looks competent for general all-mtn use.

but i still have to wonder why the enduro was replaced... (with a lefty!!?! /sorry had to do it)

prophet is a sweet bike, and the 600 is a good time. what kind of riding are you doing?

I never got the people who close the barn door after the horse ran out, trampled the neighbor kid and got jiggy with the mare down the lane. It just never made sense to me

He wants reassurance that he made a good decision. I think he hopes no matter what that he made a good decision, as long as we tell him that it was thats all that matters. GOOD DECISION MAN!!

He should have done his research / asked for opinions before he purchased the bike. I'll congratulate someone on making a choice based on facts, but I refuse to coddle someone second guessing a choice they made.

In the end, it's what HE thinks of the bike that matters, asking for opinions after the fact won't get him anywhere.

If he likes it - Great! Beyond that I can't help him

Yea i did a while of research before buying the bike. I heard nothing but good reviews from it and the reason i sold the Enduro is it was the enduro comp and had the crapiest amoung components and usually that didnt make a differentce to me but i didnt feel like replacing the fork because if i replace anything i get the best of the best and also the swingarm was cracked a little bit and that wasnt under warrenty so i would have to find a swing arm somewhere, probably around 400 or just buy a new frame. also all the chainrings were bent and i just didnt want to have to deal with it. The Enduro was a great bike but not to the extent of keeping it for another season and having to do a lifetime of repairs on it. I just want to know if you guys think i made a good choice not that it matters because im going to adapt to this bike and grow either way.

I like the prophet, but at the end of the day you have to ride it.

i'm pretty sure peachtheif2 will take it off your hands for a nominal fee if you are unhappy with it.

If you don't mind my asking how much did you get for the Enduro. Also does it ever feel weird to you only seeing(sp) one side of a fork when you look down?
